IMAN, there's been no hint of anyone wanting out as yet. Mulumbu's agent links him with a move in every window but I see little in his performances (not least his ball retention) to suggest he'll get the top 6 club he so desperately seeks. Olsson has a house in London but seems happy to commute (and he has a property here too)

johnrowland53, he's on a one-year rolling contract so there is no set-term to his tenure as such. I think he'll get some time. Unless it's an absolute disaster (results wise) I see little reason as to why he won't get a while to instil his methods. For all of the anger over his appointment, it's someone the chairman and Board wanted. So he'll get time

Is Peace going to man up and explain Chris?
by Veep6/17/2014 11:07:00 AM
If, during pre-season, Peace demonstrates a clear lack of ambition - this twinned with the Irvine appointment........... It would be fairly safe to assume that Peace accepts a loss of Premier League status as a viable option?? Is there anything you can say to suggest otherwise? It may be hypothetical at the moment however most of our fans believe this may well be the case.
by Ol6/17/2014 11:07:26 AM
Veep. I hope so. He needs to. The question has been put to the club. He promised that he would speak to the press once an appointment was in so we'll see if he does so...
by Chris Lepkowski6/17/2014 11:07:47 AM
Chris, will you get an opportunity to sit down with Irvine anytime soon? It would be nice to know his ideas with no need for the usual press conference cliches and defensiveness. Is there, for example, any chance that some of the kids will be promoted to fill the current holes in our squad? (Speaking of which I was a little surprised to see Cameron Gayle go given our FB situation - I guess we don't see how they are on a daily basis, but he looked a decent prospect to me).
by RC296/17/2014 11:08:44 AM
Ol, the loss of Premier League status is always viable option. The club prepare for it (over a 3-5 year basis taking into account parachute payments and the cost of player contracts). This is one of the biggest conflicts I feel between fans and the Club. The Club are happy with 17th. The fans want so much more. This disparity between ambition is, I suspect, one of the reasons why tensions have finally boiled
by Chris Lepkowski6/17/2014 11:09:30 AM
Peace has accepted loss of Premier League status for every season we've been in the league. We're run specifically in case we go down. The lack of financial spending power is annoying, but as a qualified accountant he isn't wrong.

I for one would like to welcome Alan to the club, and wish him well
by rowley6/17/2014 11:10:32 AM
RC29, That's the plan. He'll be unveiled tomorrow but I'm sure AI will be very receptive to dealing with the media. Albion need a charm offensive in many respects and I suspect AI will be very aware of that too.
by Chris Lepkowski6/17/2014 11:10:38 AM
Did Mulumbu actually say he dreamed of playing for Alan Irvine, when he was a boy growing up in Kinshasa?
by Gordon Sundog6/17/2014 11:11:14 AM
Chris, I am breathing a sigh of relief that we didn't go for Sherwood. His comments seem crazy. Claims he was offered the job before interview? Can't see Peace doing that. He also appears disrespectful n many situations. What do you think?
by RobW6/17/2014 11:12:14 AM
Gordon, I will ask the question. I suspect he had posters of Sherwood on his wall, however... :-)
by Chris Lepkowski6/17/2014 11:12:23 AM
Five minutes left, guys. Get your questions over to Chris and he'll do his best to answer as many as he can.
by Birmingham Mail6/17/2014 11:14:57 AM
RobW - he said he was offered the job before contract negotiation started, not before interview
by Pete6/17/2014 11:15:21 AM
chris we dont want the total spin off burton and irvine we want answers off peace

Chris, What did you think of the Game of Thrones finale? More Machiavellian politics at the Albion?
by Simon L/Spa6/17/2014 11:15:33 AM
RobW, re Sherwood. From conversations/info I've had, Albion were way, way off from the terms that Ferdinand and Ramsey wanted (they wanted in excess of £400k each...Albion were never going to get near that). Sherwood was fine with his terms. There was also a concern (according to those close to TS) about how KD would fit into the dynamic. The feedback I've had from Albion suggests there was an unease about Sherwood's personality. To quote one person I spoke to he was a bit 'Harry Redknapp'. This, of course, begs the question as to why he got as far with interviews as he did. And for all of his time at Spurs, it was only a short period, utilising a fairly decent, well-resourced squad.
by Chris Lepkowski6/17/2014 11:15:57 AM
I'd assume most people don't know who Alan Irvine is. I heard of him, but still had to take a trip to Wikipedia. Sherwood isn't a much better candidate, the difference is he's tasted the Premier League and didn't do too bad although that's at Spurs.
by Jamie Eaves6/17/2014 11:16:14 AM
Fed Up Baggie, I will ask the questions - but anything they say will be deemed as spin I suspect.
by Chris Lepkowski6/17/2014 11:16:46 AM
can u name 3 worse teams in nxt season's premiership than us??
by vwk6/17/2014 11:16:59 AM
chris unfortunately irvine is a dead man walking and only one man to blame and that is peace
by fed up baggie6/17/2014 11:19:17 AM
Hi Chris, What kind of offer do you think it would take for WBA to consider letting Thorne go?
Rail operator Virgin Trains has been asked to continue running the troubled West Coast Main Line for another few months, the Government said today.
