Average. Villa could have done with picking up a few more points, but they're still in the Capital One Cup so it's not all that bad.

Hi, I agree, the football Villa are playing is a looking a lot better now. Fans seem to be happier in general anyway. It's just going to take time.

I think we've done ok but unless we get some back to back wins it looks like it could be another tough season. Gregg, do you think Bent is still up for the challenge or is he annoyed at being dropped?

Too early to look at league tables still. Yes it helps for confidence if a team is higher placed in the league, but at this stage it doesn't matter too much. Last season Villa started well, but faded away. This season is a transformation period, all about blooding youngsters early and hopign they pay off later on.

Bent obviously wants to play every game and show what he is made of. The manager says he has not been a problem in training since he was dropped. Therefore he's still up for the challenge.

Luke - I think Reo-Coker's had his time at Villa now and it's time for new blood. Don't think he would improve the midfield at present.

For the game vs West Brom, Agbonlahor and Benteke were definitely the correct choices the way they played vs Man City. For Spurs, tactics played a big part. So Bent has little to feel upset about. Great competition for places.

luke - Still feels like the last transfer window has only just shut! I'm sure there will be money (how much I don't know) available to strengthen. A lot will depend on how Villa are performing and how results are shaping up by then.

More promising start because of the style of play, and how far that play can go. The last managers style had limitations on how much better Villa could get.

andy b - Bennett has looked a decent signing although he didn't have a great day yesterday against Lennon and then getting injured. Lowton is growing into the Premier League steadily, and Vlaar has been commanding the majority of the time. Jury still out on El Ahmadi and Benteke. Holman looks a decent player though, could probably do with a goal to give him a further boost, but I'd say he has been the most impressive signing.

I must admit as a Villa fan, we need to get over 1982 and the the past now, we had our time a few years ago & it all went tits up because our club isn't ran properly. The sad truth is, Albion have a better team than us & play better football than us & are ran much better from behind the scenes. I'm a realist & i think we need to sit back and give it time before we're even close to being what we used to be.

It is hoped that Ireland will be ready for Fulham. That was always been the aim. Only time will tell now though.
